Cindy has lived in Wichita her entire life and has spent over 40 years selling residential real estate. Cindy was educated in the Wichita Public Schools, attended Wichita State University and obtained a degree in Elementary Education from Wichita State University. She is a member of Delta Delta Delta Soroity, and went on to teach in the Wichita Public Schools briefly before going to work with her mother and father in a family owned real estate company, The Ed Clarke Company Realtors. For 14 years Cindy followed her father to open houses and to closings learning the best of business. At 72, Ed Clarke retired and Cindy decided to broaden her experiences by going to work for her biggest competitor and the largest real estate company in Wichita…J.P. Weigand & Sons, Inc.
Cindy has studied her competitors to hone her negotiating skills and thus better represent her clients by having an edge, an understanding of the marketplace, and the styles of negotiating represented in the industry. As one of the top Realtors in Wichita, Cindy is your best advantage in the purchase or sale of a home in Wichita…
Who is Cindy?
Her grandfather owned and operated Bennett Music, a full service music store. Cindy's father was in charge of contract termination for Beech Aircraft Olive Ann Beech after the war. He was the managing broker of Wheeler, Kelly Hagny Residential Real Estate Division . Ed Clarke was instrumental in the development of The Village, Rockwood,& Woodlawn Village. Cindy and her father went to open houses together each Sunday as she was growing up. Her Father called it…”Visiting” he taught her the value of caring deeply for her clients, and the wisdom to lead them with understanding.
Cindy’s mother, Corinne had a degree in History from Wichita University, was a life Master at Bridge, a darn good golfer, and Kansas State Tennis champion…but mostly a devoted wife and mother. Cindy has two brothers, Rick, a retired general surgeon in Amarillo, Texas and Bruce, a retired Army Colonel. Bruce is a graduate of West Point and retired as the Army expert on conflict resolution, and The Eisenhower Chair of the National Security Studies at the Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
Cindy married her husband John in 1979 and says he was “the hardest deal she has ever closed.” John is a general Dentist and also grew up in Wichita. John attended Kemper Military Academy, Kansas University, and the University of Missouri Dental School at Kansas City. John entered the Army Dental Corps after Dental School and spent two years in Alaska. He is a fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and a retired Colonel in the Air National Guard and was the Commander of the 18th Medical Squadron. Currently John is in private practice and teaching at Wichita State University in their Graduate Dental program. Cindy and John have a son Clarke who graduated from Wichita Collegiate School and Kansas University with a degree in History. Clarke is now selling homes with The Carnahan Group as a third generation Realtor. He is an alumni of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity, an avid golfer and loves to fish!
Our yellow lab, Piper, completes the family!

Fifteen years ago Cindy started a group called Spirit, a musical ensemble that was organized to sing in her clients homes to bless them at Christmas. Spirit has sung at the White House and has recorded 9 CD’s that have been sold to benefit children’s charities…”Children after all stand closest to the true meaning of Christmas.” Spirit has raised over $250,000 for kids
… After 17 years singing nine nights each December, Spirit decided to leave it on a high note. Their music is still available on disc.
As a past tour guide for “Witness
Wichita” Cindy knows and can show off Wichita. Cindy’s mission
statement is a pledge that her father gave her many years ago…
I pledge myself…
To protect the individual right of Real Estate ownership and to widen the opportunity to enjoy it.
To be honorable and honest in all dealings.
To seek better to represent my clients by building my knowledge and competence.
To act fairly towards all in the spirit of the Golden Rule.
To serve well my community, and through it my country.
To observe the Realtors Code of Ethics and conform my conduct to its lofty ideals.
Cindy Carnahan knows Wichita…
She would like to know you
