Judy Vanlandingham
Judy is originally from Hutchinson, Kansas and attended Hutchinson
Community college for 1 year and then Kansas University. Judy moved to
Warsaw, Poland with her husband Jake where she lived for 2 years. Judy
and Jake traveled extensively while living and working abroad. When
Judy returned to the United States she decided to go into the Real
Estate business and worked as a receptionist at a Real Estate office
for a year in Wichita before getting her Real Estate license in 1999.
Judy joined the Carnahan Group as Cindy’s
personal assistant and today attends to all details of the closing
process as the Contract Compliance and Closing officer for The Carnahan
Group.
In short Judy makes sure that Buyers and Sellers
abide by the contract all the way to the closing table. This includes
attending all inspections, reviewing the title work, appraisals,
getting bids when necessary for repairs and representing the best
interest of our clients during the entire closing process. Judy is
paying attention to each and every detail in the contract all day every
day. Judy’s attention ensures a smooth, seamless, transaction for our
Buyers and Sellers.
Judy is Cindy’s eyes and ears and advises Cindy
daily about each and every upcoming closing. Judy provides personal
service for all of Cindy’s clients without need for leaving messages
and the time wasted in telephone tag. Judy is at the office from 8:30 AM
until 5 PM Monday through Friday and available by pager seven days a
week to answer your questions.

Benita Baker
Benita is very active in her community and is a member of advisory boards at 'Victory in the Valley' (a cancer support group) and 'Freedom Challenge'. She has been the youth choir director at Glenn Park Christian Church and her fabulous voice has been a part of the Spirit Ensemble. Together with Spirit, Benita has raised over $200,000 for children’s charities in Wichita from the sale of Spirit music. She has been active in charities, music, musical theatre, and has recorded many commercial jingles. Benita sings with her husband Don for many occasions to the amazement of all who have the heart to hear their musical message. Benita and Don have 5 children and make time for their community and their church.

Brandon Baker
Brandon Baker has lived in Wichita almost his entire life and has grown to appreciate the lifestyle that we enjoy here. A graduate of Goddard High School, Brandon finished a successful high school experience by receiving the Presidents Award for his academic achievements.
Wichita State University and the School of Entrepreneurship were to be the next step for Brandon as he began to develop his unique abilities. Brandon was named the Carney Scholar for the School of Entrepreneurship in 2005. He was also a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity where he served in many different leadership roles. Brandon completed his undergraduate degree in Entrepreneurship and Marketing in 2006.
In 2003 Brandon Joined the Real Estate industry as a Real Estate Assistant with Ritchie Associates Building Company. His time spent helping residential clients build their dream homes in Wilson Estates, Rocky Creek, and Reeds Cove paved the way for a life long career.
Brandon was accepted to join The Carnahan Group in their Internship program for the summer of 2005 and completed the training and educational program with great success. Brandon's first calling was to sell a new lifestyle in dowtown Wichita called The Lofts at St. Francis. These new hip condo's took off with great success as the community rushed to get a piece of this new and exciting way of living!
Brandon brings a new dimension of talent to The Carnahan Group, his entrepreneurial training and spirit are an inspiration to all who have the opportunity to meet this dynamic young man.

DeeAnna Carlson
DeeAnna is originally from Parsons,
Kansas and attended Labette Community College for 2 years and then
attended Wichita State University where she graduated with a
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with an Emphasis in
Marketing and Management.
After graduation, DeeAnna was employed
by J.P. Weigand & Sons, Inc. to direct their advertising. We
are thrilled to have DeeAnna join the Carnahan Group as the Marketing
and Listing Coordinator. DeeAnna is a licensed Real Estate agent
and takes very seriously her role in making sales as easy as possible
by taking care of all of the details beautifully. DeeAnna was
married last year to Tyson Carlson a Personal Banker with Emprise
Bank. DeeAnna like Cindy grew up in a Real Estate family. Her
father owned Hardman Real Estate and Development company and she
knows first hand what it takes to market and sell houses. You will

Leslie Wessel
Leslie was raised in Abilene, Kansas until moving to Wichita
to attend Wichita State University. Her hard work growing up on the family
Greyhound farm paid off after being awarded the prestigious Jabara Scholarship in
Entrepreneurship. Leslie completed her undergraduate degree from WSU, receiving
the designation of Summa Cum Laude from the W. Frank Barton School of Business.
She studied Entrepreneurship with a focus in Real Estate. Leslie decided early
in college that Real Estate was right for her. She began her real estate career
at Ritchie Development Corporation in 2004. After obtaining her real estate license
she began helping people build their dream homes as a New Home Sales
Consultant Assistant. Leslie served in many developments including Chestnut
Ridge, Rocky Creek and Pine Meadow.
Leslie joined the Carnahan Group in 2006 adding her skills
and knowledge as a contract compliance and closing coordinator. Leslie and Judy
worked together to ensure that the closing process went smoothly for all buyers
and sellers from contract to the closing table. Leslie mastered these skills
and insists that there was no better way to learn the intricacies of the
closing process than to do so with such an experienced group of Realtors who handle
so many transactions every year.
She now serves as a full-time sales agent with
the Carnahan Group ready to provide unbeatable customer service for you. Leslie also enjoys working with first time home buyers and people interested new home building. She's available most evenings and weekends! Just email or call her if you are interested!
Leslie married
her college sweetheart, Kris, in September 2006 and they live in College Hill with their Schnauzer, Opal Mae. Leslie is also very active with Young Professionals of Wichita, Junior League of Wichita and the Wichita Art Museum Contemporaries.

Katie Brown
Katie
was born and raised in Wichita. Her family has been in Wichita,
supporting and helping it grow for five generations. Katie graduated
from Sedgwick High School as an honor roll student. She was also a
Presidential Scholar. Her parents, Sarah and Scott, own and operate a
peach orchard north of Wichita. Katie is currently a student at
Wichita State University earning a degree in Entrepreneurship
with an emphasis in Real Estate and a minor in Management.
She is also very active within the community. Katie is an active
member of Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) and Young Professionals of Wichita.
In 2006, Katie joined the Carnahan Group as an intern. After 2 years of hands on learning, she was invited to join as a full time sales associate. Kate is able and ready to assist you and be your advocate throughout the home buying or selling process. Katie prides herself on upholding the highest standard of service. She is a high-energy professional, who is focused on delivering quality of service, integrity and trust. She believes that communication, accessibility and integrity are essential.
Katie shows and sells homes and acreage throughout Wichita and the surrounding cities. She is available 7 days a week to assist you with any real estate needs.
Katie resides in Valley Center, with her husband Cody. Katie enjoys reading and spending time outdoors with her Labradors, Macie and Cooper.

Melissa Horner
Melissa is originally from Lake Charles, Louisiana and received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 1998 from McNeese State University. Melissa married her high school sweetheart, Chad, after both graduated from McNeese State. Chad and Melissa moved to Little Rock, Arkansas so Chad could pursue a law degree. While in Little Rock, Melissa worked as an accountant in the mortgage industry and was eventually promoted to Assistant Controller. In 2002, Chad took a job in St Louis, Missouri. Melissa continued working in the accounting field for a large property management company in St Louis. Later, she went to work for a Fortune 150 prescription benefit management company as an internal auditor. During their time in St Louis, Chad and Melissa added to their family by having a son, Alexander, in 2005. In January 2007, Chad accepted an in-house counsel position with Koch Industries, bringing the family to Wichita. Cindy and all of the wonderful people at The Carnahan Group assisted the Horners in finding the perfect home in Wichita. Melissa took some time off staying at home with Alex and began to familiarizing herself with her new city. Melissa started with The Carnahan Group in August 2007 as the Office Manager. Melissa is way overqualified to run this office . . . and we love it!!!

Cindy Carnahan
Cindy has lived in Wichita her entire life and has spent 34 years selling Residential Real Estate. Cindy was educated in the Wichita Public Schools, attended Wichita State University and obtained a degree in Elementary Education from Wichita State University. She was A Tri-Delta at WSU and went on to teach in the Wichita Public Schools briefly before going to work with her mother and father in a family owned Real Estate Company, The Ed Clarke Company Realtors. For 14 years Cindy followed her father to open houses and to closings learning the best of business. At 72, Ed Clarke retired and Cindy decided to broaden her experiences by going to work for her biggest competitor and the largest Real Estate company in Wichita…J.P. Weigand & Sons, Inc. Who is Cindy?
Her grandfather owned Bennett Music, a full service music store and her father was in charge of contract termination for Olive Ann Beech after the war. He was the managing broker of Wheeler, Kelly Hagny Residential Real Estate Division . Ed Clarke was instrumental in the development of The Village, Rockwood,& Woodlawn Village. Cindy and her father went to open houses together each Sunday as she was growing up. Her Father called it…”Visiting” he taught her the values of caring deeply for her clients, and the wisdom to lead them with understanding.
Cindy’s mother, Corinne had a degree in History from Wichita University, was a life Master at Bridge, a darn good golfer, and Kansas State Tennis champion…but mostly a devoted wife and mother. Cindy has two brothers, Rick, a retired general surgeon in Amarillo, Texas and Bruce, a retired Army Colonel. Bruce is a graduate of West Point and retired as the Army expert on conflict resolution, and The Eisenhower chair of the National Security Studies at the Army War College in Carlysle Pennsylvania.
Cindy married her husband John in 1979 and says he was “the hardest deal she has ever closed.” John is a general Dentist and also grew up in Wichita. John attended Kemper Military Academy, Kansas University, and the University of Missouri Dental School at Kansas City. John entered the Army Dental Corps after Dental School and spent two years in Alaska. He is a fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and a Colonel in the Air National Guard. Cindy and John have a son Clarke who graduated from Wichita Collegiate School and is now a senior at the University of Kansas. Clarke is a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity, he is an avid golfer and loves to fish. Clarke leaves Sunny, the devoted Labrador retriever behind to watch out for Cindy and John
Cindy currently serves on the Board of Directors for Via Christi Regional Health Systems, Ulrich Museum Alliance and The Wichita Children’s Home. She has served as a Trustee for the Leukemia Society of America, Music Theatre of Wichita. Cindy is a Sustaining member of the Junior League of Wichita as well as an active member and past regent of Wichita Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She has been the moderator for University Congregational Church. Cindy is an avid gardener and a member of Junior League Garden Club.
For the past 3 years, Cindy has attended The Strategic Coach program, a group of entrepreneurs providing process and direction for future business models located in Toronto, Canada. Recently, Cindy was awarded the Sustainer of Year award for the Junior League of Wichita for outstanding volunteerism. She has also served as a sustaining advisor to the Junior League Holiday Galleria committee, a fundraising effort to raise money and awareness for children's literacy. Cindy is also passionate about the Wichita State University - Students in Free Enterprise, a competitive team of collegiate entrepreneurs who help children learn the fundamentals of managing money and entrepreneurship.
Cindy started a group called Spirit, a musical ensemble that started by singing in her clients homes at Christmas. Spirit sang at the White House and has recorded 9 CD’s that have been sold to benefit children’s charities…”Children after all stand closest to the true meaning of Christmas.” Spirit has raised over $200,000 for kids. Spirit retired in 2004 after 17 years of spreading Christmas cheer.
The Carnahan Group Presents...The Interns
The Carnahan Group is thrilled to announce a new internship program for young people interested in a career in Residential Real Estate. Cindy Carnahan has implemented an educational opportunity for College students that will enable them to do some fantastic on the job training. Here are a few words about the internship program from Cindy...
I wanted to give something back to the Wichita community. I have attended several of the Visioneering Wichita meetings in order to decide what area of concern I might be able to affect. The internship program addresses “The Brain Drain.” Without opportunities to connect to Wichita, many of our brightest and best will leave for larger cities. Wichita has much to offer a smart young person willing to invest their time and talent in the field of Residential Real Estate. These interns will not only learn how to do things right, but do them for the right reasons. They will have someone to ask, someone to call, someone to make clear how to represent buyers and sellers in a highly competitive environment.
I was able to learn this business from my father, Ed Clarke, who for 14 years gave me tremendous advice and training. Now I am able to give that back, hopefully in spades. Everyone who knows me knows that I quote my mother and father often. I don’t think there is a higher respect to be paid than repeating for others, the things that have been gathered along the way to straighten the path or at least make the road smoother.

The internship program will consist of the following elements. Each area will be addressed by that associate with The Carnahan Group that is currently responsible for these areas within our company.
- Appraising and positioning in today’s marketplace
- Listing, and marketing Residential properties
- Contract preparation and negotiation
- Mechanical inspections, request for repairs, and bid process.
- Real Estate software programs
- Building a sphere of influence
- Open Houses, or as my father called it…visiting
- 1-2 hour Guided tours of the city for recruitment of key employees.
- Rotation through a Title Company for awareness of the closing process.
- Rotation through a law firm, shadowing a Real Estate attorney
- Rotation through a Mortgage Banking division for qualification of buyers and underwriting requirements.
- Each intern must volunteer at least once per week for the non-profit organization of their choice to give back to the community which supports them.

This program will be a 2 year program and screened through
application. Students in college may apply. We prefer at least
sophomore status. We are willing to work with you while you earn your
Real
Estate License. Wichita State University has been contacted to provide
accreditation. There will be a new intern selected each year for a
summer rotation. After the 2 years of internship the trained Realtor
may be invited to join The Carnahan Group as an associate. For more
